Fibromyalgia massage therapy uses gentle, specialized techniques to help manage chronic pain, reduce muscle stiffness, and improve quality of life for those living with fibromyalgia. I understand the unique needs of fibromyalgia patients and provide customized treatments designed to offer relief without causing additional discomfort.

Yes, when done by someone who understands fibromyalgia. The key is using very gentle pressure and being willing to adjust based on how you're feeling that day. I've been working with fibromyalgia clients for years and understand the unique considerations.
Gentle Swedish massage combined with light trigger point work tends to be most helpful. I also incorporate Reiki energy work, which many fibromyalgia clients find very soothing. The most important thing is that everything is customized to your specific needs and comfort level.
This varies from person to person. Some clients do best with weekly sessions, others prefer every two weeks. We'll start with a plan and adjust based on how you respond. Consistency tends to be more important than frequency.
It shouldn't be! If massage is causing pain, we're doing something wrong. My approach is always gentle and soothing. You might feel some tenderness in areas we work on, but you should leave feeling better, not worse.
During an active flare-up, we might need to use an even gentler approach or focus more on Reiki energy work. Some clients find that regular massage helps reduce the frequency and intensity of flare-ups over time.
Be completely honest about your symptoms, pain levels, and what has or hasn't worked in the past. Tell me about any areas that are particularly sensitive and don't hesitate to speak up during the session if anything doesn't feel right.
While I don't bill insurance directly, many HSA and FSA accounts will cover massage therapy for chronic pain conditions like fibromyalgia. I can provide receipts for reimbursement.
