Hi. I’m Stacey and I’m a massage therapist and Reiki Master.
As far back as I can remember, maybe back to the age of 15, I can remember having low back pain as well as muscle tension headaches. I never understood it - just knew it hurt. My mom was a big believer in alternative treatments and I went to see a chiropractor, an iridologist (yes - you read that right), and multiple western doctors. It really wasn’t until I started studying Reiki that I found a blissful pain relief. And then, during massage school, I learned the importance of regular massage work. Having work done consistently left me not feeling pain, and I couldn’t believe it. Since being in massage school, I have realized the importance of receiving Reiki and massage myself so that I can continue to be out of pain. I’ve learned how to treat myself with both Reiki and massage, but also make sure I’m on a massage therapist’s table very regularly. I’ve learned that if I acknowledge my pain, and use essential oils, heat, Epsom salt baths, or ice, that sometimes what I do is enough. Other times, it is not. The times I am on a massage table and have no specific complaints, I leave feeling so relaxed and much lighter.
Having struggled with pain and treatment for a long time, I understand when a client says to me that they need relief, or need the pain to go away. I’ve learned the hard way, as I can be quite stubborn, the power of self care and acknowledging when I need help. My clients are in good company when they schedule an appointment seeking relief.
